Audiobook subjects are provided by publishers/
producers/manufacturers of audiobooks and classified by R.R. Bowker editors.

For a list of audiobook subjects, click BROWSE on the top navigation bar or bottom navigation bar. Then click Audiobook Subjects.

A "contributor" is someone who made a significant contribution to a title in the Books In Print database -- such as the person who wrote the preface of a book, a ghost writer, co-author, motion picture director, motion picture producer, a key voice in an audiobook, etc.

Authors are the key writer of a title.

For a list of authors and contributors, click BROWSE on the top navigation bar or bottom navigation bar. Then click Author/Contributor.

Award names and winners of awards are compiled from various sources by R.R. Bowker's staff.

Booksinprint.com includes titles that have about 300 key book, audio or video/motion picture awards.

For a list of awards, click AWARDS on the top navigation bar or bottom navigation bar.

Binding information is provided by publishers or distributors.

For a list of binding types and codes, click BROWSE on the top navigation bar or bottom navigation bar. Then click Binding.

BISAC stands for Book Industry Standards Advisory Committee.

The BISAC subject category for a title is provided by publihsers and classified by Bowker's editorial staff.

For a list of all BISAC subjects, click BROWSE on the top navigation bar or bottom navigation bar. Then click BISAC Subject.

Children's subjects are based on Sears subject headings.

For a list of children's subjects, click BROWSE on the top navigation bar or bottom navigation bar. Then click Children's Subjects.

There are three keyword indexes.

The Keyword in Title index includes all non-article words in all titles in the database. This index helps users locate a record when they're only sure of a word or phrase from the title.

Example: Searching for the keyword-in-title "divine secrets" covers all titles with the phrase "divine secrets" anywhere in any title field (which includes: title, title supplement, subtitle, series title, original title, translated title, announced title, title of original source - audio or video).

Example: Searching for the keywords-in-title "grapes" or "wrath grapes" will both include The Grapes of Wrath among the search results.

The Keyword in Subject index includes all the subject terms from all the subject indexes. For example, the keyword-in-subject "computer" covers all titles with the word "computer" anywhere in the subject category.

The Keyword (Any) Index includes all non-article words in the entire record, excluding words that appear only in the annotation (if available), reviews (if available), and table of contents (if available).

The Language Index separates titles into their current language, original language or the language the title is dubbed, narrated or subtitled in.

"MPAA" refers to "Motion Picture Association of America."

For a list of MPAA ratings, click BROWSE on the top navigation bar or bottom navigation bar. Then click MPAA Rating.

"Performers" are actors/actresses, and producers and directors of motion pictures and voices that read audiobooks.

For a list of all performers, click BROWSE on the top navigation bar or bottom navigation bar. Then choose Performer.

Video subjects are supplied by the producers/manufacturers of video titles and classified by Bowker's editorial staff.
