Wildcards

If you're uncertain of a spelling or you want to retrieve records that include variations of a term, use these wildcard symbols:

• $ or * can be used in place of multiple characters (anywhere after the first three characters)
• ? can be used within a search term, but not at the end of the term

Examples:

wom$n lets you search on "women" and "woman"

wom$ and wom* lets you search on "women," "women's," "woman," and "woman's"

Shakesp$ and Shakesp* lets you search on "Shakespeare," "Shakespearean," "Shakespeare's" and more.

Is it "Tony" or "Toni" Morrison? Search on "ton* morrison" if you're not sure.
